Responsibilities include:
Heritage teachers are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, effective classroom environment for student learning. In addition to establishing a climate that promotes fairness and respect, the teacher is responsible for maintaining student progress reports and attendance, planning instruction and designing learning experiences for all students, adhering to school curriculum guidelines, assessing students' learning, and assisting children in the formation of satisfying relationships with other children and adults.
Qualifications include:
- Dedication to the mission and philosophy of the school
- Commitment to God's will and a desire to bring honor to God in every area of the school
- Enjoyment of children and being a part of their spiritual and intellectual development
- An ability to teach a variety of subjects such as: Bible, phonics, mathematics, history, science, and literature to promote a child's physical, mental, and spiritual development
- A willingness to train and disciple the child toward godliness and high character
- An ability to assist children in expressing themselves wisely
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Educational Requirements
Minimal - Bachelor Degree
Preferred - Master of Education
