Our admissions process is as follows:
Inquire Online, and someone in the Admissions Department will respond to your request in a timely manner.
Attend a Group Tour and Classroom Observation. Heritage invites you to visit the campus for a Group Tour and Classroom Observation. This is a great way to see Heritage students in their active learning environment. See Key Dates for more information on dates and how to RSVP.
Attend an Open House. We offer two Open Houses: October 20 at 7:00 p.m. and January 21 at 10:00 a.m.
Submit the application, a recent photograph, a $100 nonrefundable application fee and a copy of the student's birth certificate.
Schedule Observation and Testing.
PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must test for Grade 1 if currently in a Kindergarten program and will turn six by September 1, 2012. If an applicant turns six between June 1, 2012, and August 31, 2012, placement may be considered for either Kindergarten or Grade 1.
Schedule and attend a parent interview. Based on eligibility and availability, you will be called to schedule an hour-long interview with the Head of School and admissions team.
Parents will be notified of admission decisions by mail on April 6, 2012. Decisions of the Admissions Committee are final. In cooperation with the Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools (AAAIS), parents will have until April 19, 2012 to reply to the acceptance.
The Admission Committee's decisions regarding placement are based on what is best for each child as they take into consideration the developmental needs of each child. Heritage reserves the right to deny admission to a student if his or her ability, behavior, or emotional development indicates that he or she could not be best served by our school program.
Heritage Preparatory School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the School. Heritage does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarships, loan programs, or other school-administered programs.
Heritage Preparatory School offers no scholarships. Families may apply for need-based financial assistance through the third party organization SSS. This grant and aid assessment service assists families and schools in determining if a family does indeed qualify for financial aid. You may apply at http://sss.nais.org/parents/. Please contact the office at Heritage and let them know that you are interested in applying so that we may provide more specific instructions.
As a member of the Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools (AAAIS), we adhere to its Principles of Good Practice in our Admissions process.
